# Account and security (/en/docs/platform/dashboard/account-security)



Account options live in **Settings**. Open it from the sidebar or the account menu. Profile options are in **Settings › Profile**, and security options in **Settings › Security**. You can also search every setting from the search box at the top of Settings.

## Profile [#profile]

In **Settings › Profile**:

* **Name** — your display name. Edit it and press Enter to save.
* **Email** — the address you sign in with. It also shows whether it is **Verified**.
* **Profile photo** and **Banner** — click **Upload**, **Replace** or **Remove**. They are stored on your account and follow you to every device.
* **Connected accounts** — connect or unlink Google, Discord or Twitter / X sign-in.
* **Telegram alerts** — link the Telegram bot, which shows your children and recent alerts on request. See [Notifications](/en/docs/platform/dashboard/notifications#alerts-on-telegram).

## Password [#password]

In **Settings › Security**, click **Change** next to **Change password**. Enter your current password and a new one of at least 8 characters, then confirm it. Changing it signs out all your other sessions.

If you forgot your password, use **Forgot password?** on the sign-in screen, or **Send reset email**. The reset link arrives from `no-reply@auth.safecircle.tech`.

## 2-step verification [#2-step-verification]

Add a second step to sign-in with an authenticator app (1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator or any TOTP app).

    In **Settings › Security**, find **Authenticator app** and click **Enable**. Enter your password and click **Continue**.

    ### Scan and verify [#scan-and-verify]

    Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can't scan it, use **Copy secret** and enter the key by hand. Type the 6-digit code and click **Verify & activate**.

    ### Save your backup codes [#save-your-backup-codes]

    Copy the backup codes with **Copy all codes** and keep them somewhere safe. Each one works **once** and is how you get in if you lose your authenticator.

From then on, sign-in asks for a 6-digit code. If you can't reach your app, click **Can't access your app? Use a backup code**.

To turn it off, click **Disable** and enter your password.

## Passkeys [#passkeys]

A passkey lets you sign in with biometrics or a hardware key instead of a password.

* Click **Add passkey** and follow your device's prompt.
* On the sign-in screen, click **Sign in with a passkey**.
* Remove a passkey from the list with **Remove**.

## Sessions [#sessions]

**Active sessions** lists every device you're signed in on, with the current one marked **This device**. Click **Revoke** on a session to sign that device out.

## Privacy [#privacy]

**Share anonymous usage analytics** is on by default. It collects anonymous events such as page views and feature interactions. No user IDs, emails, IP addresses or other personally identifiable information are sent or stored. Switch it off in **Settings › Security › Privacy** at any time.

## Delete your account [#delete-your-account]

  Deleting your account permanently removes your account, your children and your devices. It can't be undone.

In **Settings › Profile**, go to the **Danger zone**, click **Delete account**, enter your password and click **Permanently delete account**.
