# Analytics and Timeline (/en/docs/platform/dashboard/analytics-timeline)

Use **Analytics** for the big picture and **Timeline** for the detail.

## Analytics [#analytics]

The **Analytics** page summarises alerts over the **last 30 days**. If you have several children, use the **Child** menu to look at one child or **All children**.

| Section | What it shows |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Total alerts** | All alerts in the period |
| **High risk** / **Medium risk** | Count and share of the total for each level |
| **Top app** | The app that produced the most alerts |
| **Alerts over time** | A chart of alerts per day, with your busiest day called out |
| **By category** | Which risk categories come up most |
| **By app** | Where alerts came from |
| **Risk level** | High, medium and total side by side |
| **Summary** | Top category, **Busiest day** and **High-risk share** |

Until the first alert arrives you'll see *No analytics data yet*. If a chart fails to load, click **Retry**.

<Callout>
A rising high-risk share, or one app dominating the chart, is a good prompt for a conversation. Open the [Alerts](/en/docs/platform/dashboard/alerts) page to see the individual alerts behind a number.

## Timeline [#timeline]

The **Timeline** is a chronological log of everything across your children's devices, grouped by day (*Today*, *Yesterday*, then the date). It contains two kinds of events: alerts and **Device paired**.

* **Date range** — **Today**, **7 days** or **30 days**.
* **Event type** — **All**, **Alerts** or **Devices**, from the side list. Each shows a count.
* **Summary** — **Events**, **Alerts**, **High risk** and **Devices paired** for the selected range.
* **Load more** — the Timeline loads 20 events at a time.
* **Refresh** — reloads the feed.

Marking an alert as read doesn't remove it from the Timeline.
