# Parent app overview (/en/docs/platform/parent-app/overview)



**SafeCircle Parent** is an Android app for you, the parent. It uses the same account as the [web dashboard](/en/docs/platform/dashboard/overview) and shows the same children, devices and alerts, with push notifications on your phone.

  The parent app is a companion, not a requirement. Everything it shows is also in the dashboard, and the dashboard has more settings. It is an early version (0.2).

## What you can do [#what-you-can-do]

| Tab          | What it's for                                                                                       |
| ------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Home**     | A dashboard of cards you can add, remove and move, for all children or one child.                   |
| **Alerts**   | The alert feed, grouped by day. Filter by **All**, **Unread** or **High risk**.                     |
| **Family**   | Your children, their latest alert, and pairing for new devices.                                     |
| **Insights** | Alerts per day over **7 days** or **30 days**, top categories, top alert sources and busiest child. |
| **Settings** | Profile, notifications, appearance, app lock, sessions, support and About.                          |

Open an alert to see the risk level, the child and the time, **Why this was flagged**, **Model confidence**, and **Mark as read**. Alerts have the same content as in the dashboard: a summary, never the child's messages. See [Alerts](/en/docs/platform/dashboard/alerts).

## Two variants [#two-variants]

The app comes in two variants. They share the same account, data and features; they differ in the interface.

Install the one that matches your phone. You only need one.

## How it relates to the dashboard [#how-it-relates-to-the-dashboard]

* **Same account.** You sign in with the email and password of your dashboard account. Children, devices and alerts you create in one appear in the other.
* **Pairing.** You can add a child and pair their phone from either place. See [Set up the parent app](/en/docs/platform/parent-app/setup).
* **Notifications.** The app adds push notifications. The dashboard shows alerts while it is open and can message you on Telegram. See [Notifications](/en/docs/platform/parent-app/notifications).
* **Two-factor authentication.** The app can sign in with a 6-digit authenticator code, but you set up and manage two-factor authentication in the dashboard. See [Account and security](/en/docs/platform/dashboard/account-security).

## Requirements [#requirements]

* Android 11 or later
* A SafeCircle account. Anyone can create one. See [Join the beta](/en/docs/platform/private-beta/join).
* An internet connection
