Known Limitations
Beta caveats, supported platforms, detection limits, alert delivery and data retention during the beta.
SafeCircle is in beta. The product works end-to-end but several areas are still being developed. This page lists what you should know before relying on it. It links to the detailed pages instead of repeating them.
Not a substitute for talking to your child
Detection can miss serious conversations and can flag harmless ones. Do not rely on SafeCircle as the only safeguard.
Platform support
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Child app on Android 11+ | Supported |
| Child app on Android 10 and below | Not supported |

What the child app monitors
The child app reads the text visible on screen through Android's Accessibility Service in these apps only:
- WhatsApp (
com.whatsapp) - Instagram (
com.instagram.android) - Telegram (
org.telegram.messenger) - Snapchat (
com.snapchat.android) - TikTok (
com.zhiliaoapp.musically)
Other apps, websites, games, notifications, images, voice messages and video are not read. The list can't be changed from the dashboard. iMessage / Apple Messages are not supported. See Supported apps.
Known limitations
Data retention
There is no automated data deletion currently in place. Alert and account data is retained until you delete it: revoking a device removes the alerts it created, deleting a child removes the child's profile, alerts and devices, and deleting your account removes everything it owns.
A formal data retention policy will be published before general release. For what is stored today, see Data and privacy. For privacy questions in the meantime, contact support@safecircle.tech.
